Bringing their take on heavy, riff-filled blues-rock, Sheffield-based quartet Stand Amongst Giants release their first single ‘Broken’ on the 4th of June 2021.
The first look into the upcoming album comes at you in the riff-fueled form of ‘Broken’ a song which delves into the mental health of a young boy struggling in life.
Broken is a song that came about as we wanted to tell a story. With mental health awareness on the rise constantly and more people taking notice of it, broken felt like a track that needed to connect with people.
The track itself is about a young boy struggling to cope with the people around him in his life, but we wanted the lyrics to be something that people could interpret in their own way.
Stand Amongst giants formed in 2014 as a 5 piece alternative rock band, after 2 years the band found their new love in riff fueled blues-rock, after becoming a 4 piece in 2016 the band saw itself on the guestlist for Motorhead in the USA, as well as support shows for the Graveltones and appearances at HRH festivals.
Towards the end of 2020, the band went into the studio with producer Martin Smith (Bombay Bicycle Club, Gomez, Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker) to re-record and re-write the original songs they wrote with a plan to release the album towards the middle of 2021.
