Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts
Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts – Unavailable – released on 9th October
The debut solo album from British Singer/songwriter MATT MITCHELL was released in May 2019 under the moniker of MATT MITCHELL & THE COLDHEARTS, the album was recorded at the legendary ROCKFIELD STUDIOS in Wales.
Mitchell, who has been deemed by PLANET ROCK as ‘The premium example of a modern classic rock singer’ started out singing and writing songs in his late teens, learning his craft in several bands early on.
It was shortly after this that he found himself as the voice of AOR band PRIDE, releasing two albums with EMI Toshiba/Pointmusic.
FURYON formed out of the ashes of PRIDE and really took things to the next level, as a heavier style evolved. Much love and praise followed from the likes of CLASSIC ROCK & METAL HAMMER magazines. The band had a great run touring the UK and Europe, as well as performing at several major festivals including DOWNLOAD, BLOODSTOCK and Poland’s gigantic POLAND/WOODSTOCK festival.
Not long after the release of the second album, FURYON was put on ice. At this point Matt began a partnership with LITTLE ANGELS guitarist Bruce John Dickinson, forming the much lighter, bluesy sounding COLOUR OF NOISE. A good two-year run was had with the band. An album was released, followed by plenty of touring around the UK, opening for THUNDER in Europe and yet more major festival slots, including DOWNLOAD and RAMBLIN’ MAN FAIR. COLOUR OF NOISE were to leave things on a high in 2017.
With one door closing, another soon opened in the shape of MATT MITCHELL & THE COLDHEARTS – essentially, Matt’s solo project with an array of extremely talented guest players.
The project got off to a great start, with the first single BLACK DIAMONDS being championed across the UK and the rest of the globe by numerous radio stations. PLANET ROCK RADIO really worked their magic when the song was immediately added to the B list, and from there straight onto their prestigious A list. It remained there for weeks, reaching the No. 1 slot on their playlist chart!
The fantastic response continued with the second single HOME also being added to the PLANET ROCK playlist! Another single DARE YOU TO WATCH was also released alongside a video that was shot between two show dates in the UK. In March 2020 BLACK DIAMONDS featured on the compilation album, A NEW WAVE OF ROCK N ROLL as Mitchell signed the song with EARACHE RECORDS. And the very latest release is a radio remix of the album track UNAVAILABLE.
Highlights for 2019 and 2020 include appearances at RAMBLIN MAN FAIR & PLANET ROCKSTOCK, as well as shows with SKIDROW / THE QUIREBOYS and BON JOVI guitar man PHIL X. Showing off their dynamic set they have been receiving great praise. Not only do The Coldhearts go out playing with full swagger, but Mitchell often takes to the stage armed with only an acoustic guitar where he delivers soulful and intimate solo performances.

About the song
The song Unavailable tells a story of someone who is trying to find themselves in a world of fast living and artistic lifestyle and ending up amongst people that all seem to be trying their luck, at doing the same thing.
So behind all the smiles, nights out, bad habits, poker faces, living the high life, enjoying the highs and feeling the lows, falling in and out of love, and living a nocturnal existence one ends up really just feeling UNAVAILABLE.
The track is a radio remix and master by Brighton Producer, Chris Daniels and not only is sonically different it’s different in length also.
Chris Daniels is recently known for his mastering work on such bands like – Slow Readers Club/The Blinders/The Lottery Winners/Red Rum Club /No Hot Ashes and The Lathums.
The original version of the song is on the self-titled debut album ‘Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts’
