Vix20

Vix20 are Gary Mills and CJ, two music industry veterans who grew so disillusioned with the state of every element of the music industry that they walked away vowing not to return. Now rejuvenated, although no less prickly to quote the band themselves, “hard rockers turned to the dark side of pop”. As evidenced on their first single, Digital Age, their passion for power pop and dexterity with words combines to become insanely catchy 3-minute thunderbolts. The follow up single Hashtag Change/Me Gwanishi pushed the envelope further with the glorious cut-up tones of Donald Trump delivering a love letter to his beloved Melania. Lawyers still on alert. Next stop Tron takes the Train a quite accidental landing into Synth wave and a nomination into the London Music Video Awards. The latest Try Again unplugs the synths and leans towards their 90’s rock roots.

Usually a band would flash their pedigree and tell you about all the incredible things members of Vix20 achieved during their years in music. They might regale you with stories of rock ‘n’ roll decadence, tours and air miles…from Rick Wakeman on a beach to L.A. Reid in NYC, not to mention becoming Dutch Rock Heroes…But probably you wouldn’t believe them. Twenty-five years after forming their first band and a decade spent apart sheltering from the industry, CJ and Mills accidentally started making music again…strictly for fun…right? Sure…right up until Mills arranged the commercial release of  Digital Age, which at the time made CJ furious.

After the indie success of Digital Age, CJ came around and Vix followed up with Hashtag Change. A fabulous, some may say litigious, three-and-a-half minutes of bile and vitriol about the Commander-in-Chief and his acolytes. Fast forward to Feb 2020 Vix combines their love of all things retro by releasing a Synth wave track, Tron takes the train. Featuring on Model City map on Microsoft Minecraft and CJ’s video talents being recognized at the London Music Video awards. The next step was a string of live dates with long time conspirators Kill and Rich Norris, but with the world changing and Vix keyworker duties taking priority, it’s time to Try Again representing guitar lead no nonsense, straight down the middle rock n roll.

Vix 20 are based on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border.
