Gordon Taggart

From London but originally hailing from South Manchester, new solo Indie artist Gordon Taggart makes his debut solo release with his new single, ‘Be The Ones’.

Sat languishing as a demo on an old four-track machine, ‘Be The Ones’ has been brought to life with a band full of top players that Gordon’s worked with over the years. Crafted with musical intricacies inspired by years gone by, this full melodic performance led by Gordon creates a catchy, uplifting indie rock sound with elements of funk, perfectly complementing Gordon’s soulful vocal performance.

Lyrically born from a romantic moment, it also strikes an uplifting message of optimism and adventure which, although less than 3 minutes long, will leave you elevated and reaching for the rewind button on your 21st-century cassette player.

No stranger to the big stage, Gordon’s career as a singer and actor has seen him perform on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, becoming known for his rich, searing vocal, and energetic live performances. He forged a songwriting partnership built to last with virtuoso guitarist Tony Kubik, with whom he co-wrote ‘Be The Ones’ along with a number of songs heavily influenced by the sounds of the 60’s and 70’s.

After touring several EP’s and exciting fans around Europe as the frontman in Yassassin, Gordon continued writing and performing as a solo artist with a belief in his songs and an inability to compromise the dream which has seen him finally release his first solo single.

Originally halted by lockdown, Gordon teamed up with Tony Kubik (Elec Guitar), Jon Clements (Bass), and Brad Brunsdon (Drums) as well as drawing on his musical prowess to record and produce ‘Be The Ones’ himself, before handing it over to be mixed by William Robertson (Mick Jagger/ Frank Turner) and mastered by Pete Maher (Rolling Stones/U2).

With other singles recorded as well as a collection of songs ready to be unleashed on the world, 2021 is set to be an exciting year for Gordon Taggart.
