Marcella Detroit had a very successful plugging campaign recently and the climax came the other day on Bob Harris’ show on BBC Radio 2.
She was invited to appear on Bob’s show, whilst it was covered by Paul Sexton – and Marcy played 3 tracks and chatted about her history, writing with Eric Clapton, performing in the early days and her new album Gray Matterz. She played 2 tracks from the new album and a special version of her classic Shakespears Sister track Stay.
Marcella has been working with various people on new remixes of Stay and we’ll be very pleased to be sending out the track as a little gift to our favourite radio people in the UK very soon.
Thanks to Radio 2, Bob Harris (who we met in the green room), Paul Sexton and Sara Cox for being so lovely.
Well done to Bolton’s Sittin’ Pretty, who’ve been picked by Real Radio XS to play their next Future Classics Live event at the Hard Rock Cafe in Manchester on Friday (Nov 27th). They will be played three times on the radio station on Friday too.
We’ve been busy plugging their songs 24-7 and Hopeless Annie, and radio stations have been lapping up the tunes!
The band have had a great 2015, and this is another great show to add to their gig list – and they’re looking forward to it immensely:-)
Well done to The Sherlocks who’ve had an absolute belter of a campaign so far – with their single Heart of Gold. They’ve had tremendous support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music – and today they were Radio X’s “Shock of The New” track with Dan O’Connell. (Nov 11th)
The song sounds awesome on the radio and has been played by over 100 other radio stations all over the UK – and the world! Make sure you check them out on their tour – before they get too big;-)
We’ve been busy plugging the new single from Paul Menel & The Essentials and we were very pleased to hear it on national BBC Radio 2 on Sunday night (2nd November) on Alex Lester’s show.
Let’s Do It is the second single from Paul’s forthcoming album “Spare Parts for Broken Hearts” which will be released in early 2016. It follows the single “They Call Her Leaf” which was play-listed on Planet Rock Radio for a number of weeks earlier this year.
Thanks to Alex for picking up on the track – he’s the first national radio presenter from the BBC to do so. Yes, Alex – you were first!!! 😉
